Surgical Tech/ORT Certified Surgical Technologist/CST Job Descriptions
CSTs form an important part of the surgical care team. They are responsible for patient transfers to and from the OR, situating patients on the operating table, prepping them for surgery, and assisting the physician during surgery. Additionally, surgical techs are trained in aseptic technique and are tasked with cleaning and sterilizing the OR and surgical instruments.
