They assist the surgeons during the surgery by handing them the instruments that are required, and cleaning and sterilizing instruments after their use. Sterile Processing Technicians can be either Clinical Medical Assistants or Surgical Technologists. Traveling Surgical Techs usually work in hospitals, medical centers or clinics.
