The Dosimetrist generates radiation dose distributions and dose calculations in collaboration with the medical physicist and Radiation Oncologist.

The radiation used to treat cancer may come from a machine outside the body, or it may come from radioactive material placed in the body near tumor cells or injected into the bloodstream. A Radiation Therapist may participate in a treatment protocol in which patients receive radiation therapy alone, or in combination with chemotherapy.
