American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a hospital Operating Room position requiring 2 years of surgical tech experience and NBSTSA certification.

Details

• Hospital Operating Room setting
• Weekend night shift schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 1900-0700
• 36 hours per week over 3 shifts
• No call shifts required, but holiday coverage is required unless time off is requested
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Surgical Tech experience
• Minimum 1 year of scrubbing experience
• 1 year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital preferred
• CO license (DORA) required if applicable
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist credential required
• BLS certification from the AHA required, must not expire prior to start
• Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program, or graduation from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the past 6 months, or 2 years of scrub tech experience in hospital/military surgical services within the last 3 years
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a sterile field and ensure environmental safety
• Knowledge of surgical services and sterile processing
• Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to sharps, fire safety, and emergency situations
• DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Function as a member of the surgical team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, reporting to Surgical Services management
• Maintain accountability for ensuring the operating room and surgical items meet sterilization criteria
• Prepare the operating room and instruments for surgical procedures
• Assist surgeons during procedures within ORT scope of practice
• Assist with room turnover, cleaning, and preparation for the next procedure
• Participate in the surgical operations safety plan and support system-wide surgical operations initiatives
• Returning Intermountain employees must be separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before becoming eligible for a travel assignment
