American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with strong ortho, neuro, and general surgery experience for a Level I trauma OR position on nights.

Details

• Level I trauma OR for southwest Virginia with 25 OR suites and 24x7 on-site nursing coverage
• Patient population includes neonates, adolescents, infants, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Services include general, orthopedics, neurosurgery, plastics, gynecology, oncology, robotic, ENT, ophthalmology, pediatrics, and sports medicine
• Uses specialized equipment including ROSA, Si and Xi daVinci robots, Stealth, O-Arm, and HIPEC
• Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours, 7p-7a, Friday through Sunday
• Occasional holiday coverage required with one holiday per 13-week contract
• No call requirement

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an OR Tech required
• Strong general, orthopedic (total joints), and neurosurgery skills required
• Big belly/crani/ortho trauma experience highly preferred
• Robotic training highly preferred
• BLS certification required
• NBSTSA, NCCT, or military OR Tech certification required
• Active VA state license or eligibility to obtain one required; license required if applicable
• Out-of-state license holders must obtain VA state licensure, with 90-day authorization to work while licensure is in process

• Work within a Level I Trauma Center for both adult and pediatric populations
• Facility is Magnet-designated for nursing excellence and affiliated with an academic medical school
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Local candidates within 100 miles of the facility are not accepted

• Previous employees must have a minimum one-year break before returning as a traveler
