American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a Day Shift OR position requiring scrub experience in GYN, ortho, and general surgery cases.

Details

• Level IV Trauma Center with 14 ORs performing 20-23 cases per day
• Top case types include ortho (35% of cases), GYN, and general surgery
• Additional case types include bariatrics, plastics, and urology procedures
• Utilizes DaVinci XI and Stryker Mako robotic systems for total joint procedures
• No neuro, complicated spine, or baby delivery cases
• Day Shift schedule with either four 10-hour or five 8-hour shifts, Monday-Friday 0630-1500
• Weekend on-call rotation with call responsibilities split evenly among techs, including weeknight and holiday coverage
• Weekend call shifts run 0630-0630
• EPIC EMR required
• Uses Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and iStat/Hemochron equipment

Requirements

• BLS certification required
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program required
• CST certification preferred
• 2-3 years of OR experience required; first-time travelers considered with 3+ years of OR experience
• Required experience in scrubbing GYN, ortho, and general surgery cases
• EPIC EMR experience required
• License required if applicable
• Minimum 12 months of core work experience in the specialty area, with most recent experience within the last year
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Candidate DOB and last 4 of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Support provided by Charge RN, unit leadership, OR Educator, surgeons, and anesthesia team
• Orientation includes 3-5 days (8 hours each), starting with meetings with nurse manager and educator followed by preceptor-guided unit orientation
• One holiday coverage expectation per assignment
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be approved
• Scrubs are provided
