American Traveler is hiring a Surgical Technologist for a Cardiovascular Operating Room requiring CVOR, cardiac/vascular, and hybrid case experience.

Details

• Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) setting within a hospital
• 12-week assignment at 40 hrs/wk, 8-hour shifts
• Day shift 0630-1500 with 2-3 weekday calls and every 3rd-4th weekend call
• Requires cardiac/vascular and hybrid case experience
• Cerner EMR used for charting
• May float to a sister hospital nearby

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or approved U.S. military Surgical Technology training program
• NBSTSA-Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
• BLS certification required (AHA)
• Active SC or compact license required, if applicable
• CVOR experience required
• Cardiac, vascular, and hybrid case experience required
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, and stoop for long periods
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs intermittently and push/pull up to 50 lbs frequently
• Frequent use of finger/hand dexterity and reaching with twisting motions
• Corrected hearing and vision to normal range

Additional Information

• Assists RN in planning and coordinating patient care during surgical procedures
• Creates and maintains asepsis and performs scrubbing duties throughout the case
• Accounts for all equipment and supplies used during patient care
• Serves as clinical preceptor for scrubbing orientation when needed
• Maintains cleanliness and proper care of surgical equipment and unit environment
• Works under stressful conditions with exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious materials
• May be required to take call and work weekends or holidays based on department needs
• Does not accept local candidates; must live 50+ miles from the facility
• Travelers may remain on assignment up to one calendar year before requiring a 30-60 day break prior to a new assignment
