American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist for an acute care hospital cardiac cath lab, requiring 2+ years of cath lab experience and current BLS, ACLS, and RCIS or ARRT certification.

Details

• Acute care hospital with 304 staffed beds
• Rotating 4x10 hour day shifts (7:00 AM-5:30 PM and 9:30 AM-8:00 PM), with shift blocks kept consistent week to week
• Runs 4-5 labs per day with 2-3 cases per lab, averaging 20-25 cases daily
• On-call requirements include one weekend (Fri-Sun) every 7 weeks plus a weekly call shift and evening shift
• No floating to other service lines or sister facilities
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Uses EPIC for charting
• Additional equipment includes PACS, Fuji Vidistar, and MAC Lab

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience required
• BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA only)
• RCIS (registered or in process) or ARRT certification required
• South Carolina RN license required if applicable (SCRQSA)
• Community hospital experience required
• Proficient in coronary diagnostic/interventional scrub and monitor duties
• Experience with cardiac stent placement, left and right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, and rotablator atherectomy
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Radiation badge required and must be provided by the agency

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include cardiac catheterization procedures, vascular studies, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, IVC filter placement, and embolization
• Impella insertion experience preferred
• Hospital-issued scrubs provided for cath lab staff
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on position needs
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis, though non-local candidates are prioritized within a 60-mile radius rule
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for consideration
• Staff may be assigned to emergency response duties during hurricane season (June-November)
