American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for an OR position requiring 2 years of experience and active BLS certification.

Details

• Hospital operating room setting functioning in the scrub role
• 10-12 hour shifts depending on facility needs
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent military program
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Certified Surgical Technologist credential required
• Active state license required if applicable
• Must reside at least 90 miles from the facility to be considered

Additional Information

• Works under the supervision of the surgeon and RN to ensure a safe OR environment and proper equipment function
• Requires expertise in surgical technique, human anatomy, and surgical procedures to support patient safety during invasive procedures
• Responsible for completing case carts according to preference cards and interpreting instrument and supply needs
• Communicates with OR and sterile processing staff to coordinate instrumentation for scheduled and non-scheduled cases
• Reviews daily schedule with charge nurse and sterile processing coordinator to identify turnover delays or scheduling issues
• Manages core phone communications and coordinates breaks and lunches with team members
• Serves as a resource for SPD and Surgical Services in procuring supplies and instrumentation
• Coordinates with materials management regarding supply utilization and deployment
• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to three shifts per 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances
