American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for an ambulatory surgery center role requiring EPIC experience and at least 2 years of CST experience.

Details

• Ambulatory surgery center setting with rotating late days to finish cases
• Day shift schedule Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM (5x8 hours)
• Required to float to other ambulatory sites as needed
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Preferred service-line experience includes orthopedics/total joint, sports medicine, spine, hand/foot/ankle, shoulder, urology, ENT, and vascular procedures

Requirements

• BLS certification required
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist
• EPIC experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• License required if applicable
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Perform surgical technologist duties across a range of ambulatory surgical procedures including orthopedic, podiatry, vascular, urology, and ENT cases
• Maintain aseptic technique, instrument processing, and sterilization/disinfection standards
• Adhere to isolation precautions, PPE, sharps safety, and specimen handling protocols
• Participate in Universal Protocol (time out) procedures and emergency/fire safety practices
• Work with equipment such as electrosurgical units, drills, fiber optic light sources, and case/crash carts
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract; those far from Ohio will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet with urgent completion instructions
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees ineligible to be hired as travelers at any Ohio State University hospital location
• RTO must be requested at time of submission and built into contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
