American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a Trauma Level I hospital OR position requiring Neuro and Trauma skill proficiency.

Details

• Trauma Level I hospital surgical services unit
• Day shift, 5x8 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Neuro call requirement of 90-120 hours every 6 weeks
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
• Uses Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
• Cerner charting preferred

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of surgical technology experience required
• At least 1 year of Trauma Level I experience required
• BLS certification required
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist credential required
• License required if applicable
• Proficiency level of 3 or 4 required in Neuro and Trauma skill sets
• Experience in Neuro Spine, Craniotomy, and VP shunt procedures
• Experience in PV procedures including AAA repair and thrombectomies
• Trauma experience including spleen repair, organ donation, GSW, and thoracotomies
• Experience with urology procedures including cystoscopy and stent placement
• Experience in General, GYN, and Laparoscopic surgical cases
• Basic ENT and Plastics experience required, flap and scope experience preferred
• Oral Max surgical skills required
• Experience with D&C and laparoscopic-assisted gynecological procedures
• Two supervisor references required
• Prior travel experience required

Additional Information

• Perform reprocessing of trauma instruments and trays
• Support case cart and crash cart preparation
• Assist with instrument processing and sterile field maintenance
• Candidates must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved, additional time requires facility approval
• Local candidates residing in Indiana are accepted and considered local
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Past PERM or PRN employees of the health system must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of employment within the health system must take a designated break to reset eligibility: 3 months for out-of-state residents and 6 months for in-state residents
