American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a Level I Trauma hospital OR requiring neuro and trauma expertise with a minimum of 2 years' experience.

Details

• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Neuro call requirement of 90-120 hours every 6 weeks
• Level I Trauma hospital setting including Ambulatory OR and General OR
• Skill areas include Neuro, Ortho Trauma, PV, Thrombectomies, Trauma, Urology, General, GYN, Laparoscopic, ENT, Plastics, and Oral Max cases
• Procedures include AAA repair, craniotomy, VP shunt insertion, lumbar fusion, ALIF, anterior cervical fusion, laminectomy/discectomy, kyphoplasty, cystoscopy, stent placement, D&C, and laparoscopic gynecological procedures
• Uses Da Vinci Xi Surgical System and case cart/crash cart equipment
• 100% floating required within the hospital or nearby affiliate hospitals
• Cerner charting system used

Requirements

• BLS certification required
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist credential required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, including at least 1 year of Level I Trauma experience (hardstop requirement)
• Must demonstrate advanced (3/4 level) proficiency in Neuro and Trauma cases
• Level I Trauma hospital experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• License required if applicable, and must be in hand prior to start date (temporary license acceptable while permanent license application is pending)

Additional Information

• Responsible for instrument processing and reprocessing of trauma instruments/trays
• Support a wide range of surgical specialties including neuro, trauma, vascular, urology, GYN, and general surgery
• Work within a Level I Trauma center environment supporting high-acuity cases
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• Local candidates are accepted, with IN residents considered local
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who have completed 12 months of employment within IU Health must take a designated break before starting a new assignment (3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents)
