American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a combined OR/CVOR position requiring at least 2 years of experience in trauma, ortho, and general surgical cases.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with 12 general OR suites, 1 CVOR suite, and 1 hybrid room
• Averages 14 cases per day across the department
• Must be able to perform both cardiovascular and general OR cases
• General OR cases include ortho (total joints), gyn, urology, trauma, ENT, general, some plastics, vascular, neuro, and robotics (Da Vinci)
• CVOR cases include open heart, valves, thoracotomy, and trauma surgeries
• Uses Cerner EMR/charting system
• 8-hour day shifts with every other weekend rotation
• Call requirements apply
• First to float among staff

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
• Trauma, ortho, and general surgical experience required
• BLS certification required
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential via NBSTSA required
• Active state or compact (NLC) license required if applicable; pending licenses not accepted
• Active certifications required at time of consideration; pending certifications not accepted
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Additional Information

• Perform surgical technologist duties across both general OR and CVOR settings
• Support a high-volume surgical department with a variety of specialties and case types
• Facility may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment (3 shifts for assignments shorter than 13 weeks)
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year; PRN employment through outside firms will be considered
