American Traveler is hiring an experienced Sonographer for a premier cardiac center, requiring dedicated inpatient echo experience and mandatory TAVR TTE scanning experience for critical aortic stenosis patients.

Details

• Non-invasive cardiac services unit in a premiere cardiac center
• Performs high-quality adult echo studies per ASE and IAC guidelines
• AM shift, Tuesday through Saturday, 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM
• 4 days per week, 9.5 hours per day, 38 hours per week
• No on-call requirements
• May float to sister hospital nearby
• Uses Philips ie33 and Epiq systems
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Graduate of CAAHEP or ABHES Cardiovascular Technology Program preferred
• Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer through ARDMS or CCI
• BLS certification from AHA required
• License required if applicable
• Minimum of 200 documented inpatient echocardiography cases required by institutional referral
• Dedicated inpatient echo work experience required
• Mandatory TAVR TTE experience scanning pre-TAVR treatment patients with critical aortic stenosis, must be reflected on resume
• Only candidates with extensive experience or prior work at a valve center or structural heart facility will be considered
• Proficiency in valvular assessment with strong spectral Doppler and Pedoff skills required
• Experience with contrast echocardiography and agitated saline studies required
• Ability to work independently and quickly recognize and respond to critical findings
• TEE and Stress Echo experience preferred
• Familiarity with 3D echo imaging preferred
• Experience with TAVR, Mitral Clip, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, VAD, and closure device protocols preferred
• Familiarity with maintaining ICAEL-accreditation echo lab standards preferred
• Familiarity with Epic hospital information system preferred

• Prepares patients for exams, explains procedures, and monitors patients throughout the process to ensure comfort
• Sets up equipment and performs ultrasound procedures in a timely manner
• Reviews prior reports, images, and patient charts before exams
• Ensures complete and accurate imaging, proper technique, and timely communication with readers
• Maintains exam records, logs, and inventory of supplies for the assigned area
• Local candidates accepted at a different rate
• Accepts candidates who have not previously traveled
