American Traveler is hiring a Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Sonographer with at least 1 year of MFM experience and 3+ years of overall sonography experience for a high-risk obstetric ultrasound unit.

Details

• High-risk OB ultrasound unit with 6 scanning rooms and one coordinator
• Utilizes brand new Samsung Hera Z20 ultrasound machine
• Performs comprehensive obstetric ultrasounds including first trimester scans (NT, early anatomy), detailed anatomy surveys, growth and BPP studies, multiple gestation evaluations, cervical length assessments, placental evaluation/PAS, and Doppler studies (umbilical artery, MCA, ductus venosus)
• Supports high-risk and specialized exams involving complex maternal and fetal conditions
• Assists with fetal therapy and invasive procedures such as amniocentesis, CVS, and PUBS (sonographers do not guide or perform these procedures)
• Anatomy scans scheduled for 45 minutes (90 minutes for twins); follow-up/NT and early anatomy exams scheduled for 30 minutes (60 minutes for twins)
• Day shift schedule from 08:00 AM to 04:30 PM
• 13-week assignment length
• Uses Epic for EMR charting

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of sonography experience required
• At least 1 year of prior MFM (Maternal-Fetal Medicine) experience required
• Current BLS certification required (AHA preferred)
• License required if applicable
• Experience acquiring high-quality diagnostic images and completing accurate measurements
• Familiarity with accreditation standards (AIUM/ACR) for ultrasound studies
• Strong documentation skills for entering exam data into EMR/PACS systems

• Provide compassionate, sensitive care to patients facing high-risk pregnancies while explaining procedures within scope of practice
• Maintain patient privacy and emotional sensitivity throughout care
• Communicate abnormal results promptly to providers and support bedside consults
• Collaborate closely with MFM physicians, radiologists, nurses, genetic counselors, and other support staff
• Participate in multidisciplinary care coordination for complex maternal and fetal cases
• Flu vaccination required during flu season with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
• Local candidates accepted; must reside within 60 miles of Boston for standard rate eligibility
