American Traveler is hiring an EEG Technologist for a Neurology EMU unit, requiring EEG or CLTM registry, BLS, and at least 2 years of specialty experience

Details

• Work within the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) and support other inpatient settings
• Perform EEG, Evoked Potentials, Autonomic, and/or Nerve Conduction Studies
• Monitor and maintain EEG recordings for surgical, adult, and pediatric patients
• Participate in on-call rotation as part of EEG duties
• 13-week assignment with a schedule of 12-hour shifts on Sat/Sun (7:00 AM-7:30 PM) and 8-hour shifts on Mon/Tues (3:00 PM-11:30 PM), with flexibility for other shifts as needed
• 40 hours per week across 5 days
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Current Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist, Clinical Neurophysiology Technologist graduate, or current CNT student status required
• EEG or CLTM registry required
• BLS certification required (AHA or American Red Cross)
• Minimum of 2 years of specialty experience and/or 3 total travel assignments required for this location
• Associate's degree in Applied Science or related science required
• Proficient in electrode application for adult and pediatric EEGs using 10-20 or 10-10 systems
• Strong computer, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills required
• Ability to work independently and adapt rapidly in a clinical setting
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Respond to seizures, troubleshoot equipment, and assist with SPECT injections as part of daily responsibilities
• Serve as a liaison between nurses and physicians to support coordinated patient care
• Provide shift reports on relevant patient information
• Mentor student technologists rotating through the inpatient practice
• On-site position with no teleworking option
• COVID vaccination and booster required for consideration
• Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment due to low census
• Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one year from their initial start date, followed by a required 30-60 day break before starting a new assignment
