Description

American Traveler seeks an OR First Assist Surgical Technologist with independent vein harvesting skills and cardiovascular experience for a 10-hour day shift hospital position with call coverage.

Details

• Operating Room department in a hospital setting
• 10-hour day shift schedule, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, 40 hours per week
• Weekday call coverage from end of scheduled shift through 07:00 AM the following morning
• Weekend and holiday call coverage from 07:00 AM to 07:00 AM the following day
• First assists will also cover the surgical tech role as needed throughout the week

Requirements

• BLS certification required
• CFSA certification through CAAHEP or CST through ABHES required (NBSTSA also accepted)
• EVH certification through NSAA or ABSA required
• Must be able to independently perform vein harvesting
• Minimum of 3 years of cardiovascular experience required, nonnegotiable
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Provide direct support to surgeons during surgical procedures, including positioning and prepping patients
• Use instruments such as retractors and sponges to ensure clear visibility for the surgeon
• Control bleeding, close surgical sites using sutures or staples, and dress wounds
• Collaborate with surgeons and surgical team members to ensure proper post-operative patient care
