American Traveler seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist for a night shift hospital role, with 2 years of experience required and first-time travelers welcome.

Details

• Cardiovascular/thoracic, transplant, and robotics (thoracic preferred) CVOR unit
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend requirement of Friday through Sunday
• Floating within facility and scope of practice, including to Main OR as needed
• Call requirements to be discussed during interview
• 18-week assignment length

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• GA or Compact RN license required at time of submission if applicable
• 1:1 patient ratio experience
• Experience with vascular and cardiovascular procedures such as CABG, TAVR, VAD, EVAR, and TEVAR preferred
• Experience with aseptic technique, instrument processing, and sterilization/disinfection
• Robotics experience, including cardiothoracic robotic surgery, preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Experience with endoscopic procedures such as bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, and EGD preferred
• Copies of required certifications needed for consideration
• Two supervisory references (Manager or above) highly preferred for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Support cardiovascular, thoracic, transplant, and robotic surgical cases
• Maintain sterile fields and assist with aseptic technique throughout procedures
• Handle care of scopes, fiber optic equipment, case carts, and crash carts
• Work within a hybrid OR and general OR setting as needed
• Compliance documents must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing, with all items due the Tuesday prior to start
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, finalized at time of submission
• No RTO permitted during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required if 1-2 major holidays fall within the assignment; if 3 major holidays occur, one holiday RTO request may be considered
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, and Christmas/New Year's Eve and Day
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Former Piedmont perm, per diem, or FCSS employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
• Travelers previously cancelled or DNR'd by a Piedmont facility must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
• Shift and contract length are firm with no alternate schedule requests permitted
