American Traveler is hiring an EEG Technologist with current EEG or CLTM registry and BLS certification to support an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and inpatient neurology patients.

Details

• Work in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) as well as other inpatient settings
• Adult and pediatric patient population
• 13-week assignment
• Schedule includes 12-hour shifts Sat/Sun from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM and 8-hour shifts Mon/Tues from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
• 40 hours per week
• On-call rotation required for EEG coverage
• Uses Epic for charting
• On-site position with no teleworking

Requirements

• >= 2 years of experience in the specialty, and/or 3 total travel assignments
• Current EEG or CLTM registry required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross)
• Must be a current Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist, Clinical Neurophysiology Technologist graduate, or current CNT student
• Associate", if hired after 2013
• Active license required (license required if applicable)
• Competency in neurodiagnostic procedural testing, including electrode application for adult and pediatric EEGs using standard 10-20 or 10-10 systems
• Experience with Nerve Conduction Studies, Evoked Potentials, and Autonomic testing
• Strong computer skills
• Above average verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and adapt rapidly in a fast-paced environment

Additional Information

• Perform complete and accurate patient preparation, data acquisition, and ensure a safe testing environment
• Monitor and maintain EEG recordings for surgical, adult, and pediatric patients
• Respond to seizures and troubleshoot equipment as needed
• Assist with SPECT injections
• Provide shift reports on relevant patient information
• Act as a liaison between nurses and physicians to support patient care coordination
• Mentor student technologists rotating through the inpatient practice
• Facility may call off or cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment due to low census
• Travelers may remain on assignment up to one calendar year from the initial start date, after which a 30–60 day break is required before returning to a new assignment
