American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist with vascular experience and 7 years of surgical tech experience for a hospital surgical services position.

Details

• Hospital surgical services department featuring 15 OR suites, including hybrid and cardiothoracic rooms
• Supported by PACU, sterile supply, pharmacy, offices, and scheduling areas
• CST Vascular case focus
• Day shift schedule, 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week, 40 hours weekly

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of surgical technology experience required
• Completion of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Surgical Technologist program, or completion of a Surgical Technologist program through the United States Armed Forces
• BLS certification required
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCCT Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C) required
• License required if applicable
• Strong communication, collaboration, and customer service skills

Additional Information

• Serve as primary scrub person or assistant during operative procedures
• Prepare surgical suites by ensuring instruments and supplies are sterilized and available for scheduled cases
• Maintain sterile field during setup and throughout procedures
• Pass instruments and assist the physician as needed during cases
• Perform instrument, sponge, and sharps counts
• Assist circulating RN with patient positioning and draping
• Collaborate with circulating nurse on appropriate interventions and identified risks
• Perform post-case cleanup including gross decontamination of instruments and proper transport to Central Sterile Processing
• Ensure surgical suite is disinfected, restocked, and ready for next procedure
• Complete mandatory hospital education and maintain compliance with HR and Employee Health requirements
• Follow safe OR practices and complete age-specific annual competency assessments
