American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist with strong vascular and trauma experience for a Level II Trauma Center's Vascular surgical team.

Details

• Work in a 492-bed Level II Trauma Center with a Level III NICU and Primary Stroke Center designation on the Vascular surgical team
• 15-bed surgical unit with a 1:1 patient ratio
• Minimal pediatric caseload, typically orthopedic cases
• 10-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week, starting at 6:30 am
• Shift options include 0630-1700, 0630-1500, 1230-2300, and 0630-1900
• No floating required
• Weekend rotation and on-call responsibilities required, with call for all service lines except Open Heart being one day per week from 3p-7a and one weekend per month from Friday 3p to Monday 7a
• Expected to work one holiday per contract
• Uses Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience required for first-time travelers
• Strong experience in trauma (excluding burns), neuro, general, vascular, ENT, ortho spine, gyn, urology, plastics, breast, and eye surgeries required
• Vascular competency required in AAA, carotids, AVG, AVF, Fem-Fem bypass, and aorta bi-fem procedures
• Endovascular experience preferred
• Robotics experience preferred, particularly with Mazor and DaVinci XI systems
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Certification preferred but not required (license required if applicable)

Additional Information

• Support surgical procedures across multiple service lines including general, vascular, neuro, ortho, ENT, gyn, urology, and plastics
• Team support includes ORA, desk assistant, FA's, charge nurse, and team leaders for service lines
• Orientation consists of 2 weeks on day shift, with buddy call expected during orientation
• Time off requests must be approved through the manager
• Green scrubs are provided
• Parking is available in a parking deck
• Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility for consideration
• Former staff must wait 6 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
