American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist with at least 2 years of experience for a Level I trauma center's Main Operating Room, requiring NBSTSA certification and BLS.

Details

• Works in a 21-suite Main Operating Room within a Level I academic trauma center supporting all surgical specialties
• Common cases include ortho (total joints, spine, trauma), neuro (crani, spine), ENT (flaps), robotics, transplants/procurements, trauma/burns, and GU/GYN
• Highly preferred experience in neuro (spines/crani), ENT (flaps), and robotics (Davinci Xi) cases
• Nursing team is 75% RN and 25% CST, with RNs trained to both scrub and circulate
• Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with holiday rotation
• Requires 1 weekend shift per 4-week scheduling period
• On-call requirement of up to 4 call shifts per month
• Must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs, including between like units or sister facilities
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist required
• NBSTSA certification required (NCCT not accepted)
• BLS certification required (AHA certifications only)
• Level I trauma center experience required
• Radiation badge required, to be provided by the agency
• RN license required if applicable
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Facility is a Level I Trauma Center, academic teaching hospital, and Magnet-designated facility with 820 staffed beds
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval, dependent on unit needs, but is not guaranteed
• Local candidates will be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for consideration
• During hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
