American Traveler seeks a Vascular Surgical Technologist with strong trauma, vascular, and endovascular experience for a Level II Trauma Center's surgery unit.

Details

• Work in a Level II Trauma Center's Surgery unit with a 15-bed capacity
• 10-hour day shift schedule, 40 hours per week, starting at 6:30 am
• Shift times vary and may include 0630-1700, 0630-1500, 1230-2300, or 0630-1900
• Minimal pediatric patient population, typically orthopedic cases
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Uses Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors
• No floating required
• On-call rotation required for all service lines except Open Heart, typically one weekday (3p-7a) and one weekend per month (Friday 3p to Monday 7a)
• Weekend rotation required

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience required for first-time travelers
• Strong experience in trauma (excluding burns), neuro, general, vascular, ENT, orthopedic spine, gynecology, urology, plastics, breast, and eye surgeries required
• Competency required in AAA, carotids, AVG, AVF, Fem-Fem bypass, and aorta bi-fem procedures for vascular cases
• Endovascular experience preferred
• Robotics experience preferred, particularly with Mazor and DaVinci XI systems
• Open Heart/CVOR experience helpful but not required for general OR assignments
• Certification preferred but not required
• License required if applicable
• Cerner EMR experience helpful

• Support surgical procedures across multiple service lines including trauma, neuro, general, vascular, ENT, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, robotics, plastics, and more
• Assist with a wide range of surgical specialties supported by a team including ORA, desk assistants, first assistants, charge nurses, and service line team leaders
• Two-week orientation on day shift, with buddy call expected during orientation
• Expected to work one holiday per contract
• Time off requests must be approved by the manager
• Green scrubs provided
• Parking available in a parking deck
• First-time travelers considered with at least 2 years of experience
• Candidates with only 1 year of experience will not be accepted
• Facility maintains a 60-mile radius rule; local candidates within this radius are not eligible
• Former staff members must wait 6 months before returning as a traveler
