American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist with Trauma Level II experience and required Ortho and Neuro case experience for a hospital OR position.

Details

• Hospital-based Surgical Services department
• Day shift schedule with 4x10-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Case mix heavy in Orthopedic and Neuro surgeries
• Additional case exposure may include General, Trauma, Ortho, Neuro, and other surgical specialties
• EPIC EMR experience required
• May float to any campus within the health system as needed

Requirements

• Minimum of 1-2 years of Surgical Technologist experience required
• Required experience in both Orthopedic and Neuro surgical cases
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology program accredited through ARC/STSA
• BLS certification required (ARC or AHA)
• CST certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• License required if applicable
• Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG competency exam during compliance (two attempts allowed)
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility

Additional Information

• Maintain sterile field and asepsis by ensuring sterile equipment does not contact unsterile items or surfaces
• Observe and report on patient health changes to help adapt care plans as necessary
• Complete basic scrub duties and table set-ups to prepare a sterile environment for surgery
• Gather supplies and check equipment to ensure necessary materials are prepared for surgery
• Verify patient health status data with the circulating nurse to maintain accurate records
• Facility maintains a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Compliance documentation must be completed by 12 noon EST the Wednesday prior to the start date
