American Traveler seeks a CVOR Certified Surgical Technologist for a night-shift position at a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of experience and prior travel experience.

Details

• Work in the CVOR unit of a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated teaching hospital
• Scrub for a wide range of surgical services including Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular, Surg Onc, Plastics, Colorectal, Robotics, Pans/Bili, Endocrine, and Bariatric procedures
• General OR work setting
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts, Friday through Sunday, 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM
• No on-call requirements
• Possible holiday coverage required
• EPIC EMR system used for charting

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of CVOR surgical technologist experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist credential required
• South Carolina or multi-state RN license required in hand at start of contract if applicable
• Ability to scrub confidently across a broad range of surgical specialties
• Radiation badge required, to be provided by the agency
• Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
• Support surgical teams across multiple specialties in a high-acuity, Level I Trauma teaching hospital environment
• Assist with instrument preparation, sterile field setup, and surgical case support
• Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to qualify for the standard travel rate, though local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application, with approvals based on departmental needs
• Facility may call off the traveler for up to 1 shift per pay period (2 weeks)
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must have a 1-year separation from the system before returning as a traveler
• During hurricane season (June through November), all staff including travelers may be assigned to emergency response duties
• Free parking available in the Hagood Lot, with a paid parking option near the unit for night and weekend shifts
