American Traveler is hiring a GI/Endoscopy Technician with 3+ years of experience for a 13-week assignment at an acute care hospital, requiring on-call availability and prior travel experience.

Details

• Work in the GI/Endoscopy unit of an acute care hospital
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts, Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
• On-call required, including weeknights (4:30 PM-7:30 AM) and 1-2 24-hour weekend shifts per six-week schedule, averaging 8 weeknights and 2 weekends per cycle
• Floating to the OR required to assist with cases
• Utilizes Epic EMR for charting
• Procedures include bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, EGD, and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)
• Equipment used includes balloon dilators, ERBE electrical coagulation instruments, bronchoscopes, colonoscopes, EGD scopes, EUS scopes, enteroscopes, ERCP scopes, and flex sigmoidoscopes
• Responsibilities include scope and instrument cleaning, room turnover, instrument processing, and high-level disinfection (HLD)
• Urology cases also supported within this unit

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of GI/Endoscopy experience required
• Prior travel experience required unless candidate has 5+ years of experience
• BLS certification preferred
• SGNA certification preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Acute care hospital experience required
• Active CA state license required at time of consideration, if applicable
• Must disclose any license or background check issues at time of consideration
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• LA fire card completed within the last 30 days required

Additional Information

• instrumentation, sterilization/disinfection, and inpatient work settings are part of daily responsibilities
• Perform room turnover and instrument processing duties between procedures
• Travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state as needed
• Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
• Scrubs provided for OR, L&D, and Cath Lab staff; RNs wear navy blue scrubs
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility may be considered at a lower bill rate
• Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel staff and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Minimal RTO accepted; requests must be submitted at time of consideration and may delay offer approval
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Facility may cancel one shift per two-week pay period
• Beachside acute care hospital setting with 266 staffed beds
