American Traveler is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist with strong neuro, ortho, and robotics experience for a Level 1 trauma hospital OR position.

• Level 1 trauma acute care hospital OR unit with 12 surgical suites
• Wide case variety including general, GYN, GU/Cysto, ortho, neuro, plastics, eye, ENT, thoracic, and endoscopy procedures
• Ortho cases include ORIFs, total knees/hips, and closed reductions; neuro cases include craniotomies, ventriculostomies, and shunts
• Utilizes Da Vinci Robot (x3), Stealth, O-arm, and holmium lasers
• Occasionally sees pediatric patients in emergency situations
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Midshift schedule Monday-Thursday, 1030-2100, plus additional 8- and 12-hour shifts (0630-1500 or 0630-1900)
• On-call requirement of 1-4 hours after a shift weekly, plus weekend call from Friday evening to Sunday evening approximately every 5 weeks
• Two alternating call teams rotate between first and second call every 12 hours
• No floating outside of the OR department

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
• BLS certification (AHA)
• CST certification preferred but not required
• License required if applicable
• Must have proficiency (rated 3 or higher) in ortho, neuro, GYN, eyes, ENT, and robotics procedures
• Neuro and ortho experience required due to high case volume in these specialties
• Robotics experience required
• Acute care and Level 1 trauma hospital experience
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

• Support surgical procedures across multiple specialties including general, GYN, ortho, neuro, plastics, eye, ENT, and thoracic surgery
• Assist with robotic-assisted surgeries using the Da Vinci system
• Green scrubs provided by the hospital
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments; refusal to remove artificial nails will result in contract termination
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates may not be currently employed full time, part time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity
• Up to 7 days of requested time off must be submitted upfront for the 13-week contract; additional RTO requests will not be approved
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
