American Traveler is hiring an EEG Technologist with 2+ years of experience and ABRET, BLS, and R.EEGT certifications for a short-term acute care hospital setting.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting within the EEG department
• Case types include Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, sEEG, Neurotelemetry, Ictal SPECT, routine EEG, trauma, and critical care
• 3x12 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• First 1-2 weeks will require 5x8 hour shifts for training
• Call requirement of 1-2 shifts every 6 weeks
• No weekend requirement
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Floating between affiliated hospitals within the health system is required, including a pediatric hospital

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience required
• ABRET, BLS, and R.EEGT certifications required
• CLTM certification preferred
• Experience with Collodion/glue EEG hook-up required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Must be comfortable working with all patient populations, including ICU, NICU, PICU, and Emergency Department settings
• Skills in ambulatory EEG, EMG/nerve conduction study assistance, evoked potentials (auditory, motor, somatosensory), electrode placement, and long-term video monitoring preferred
• License required if applicable
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Two supervisor references required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include performing EEG hook-ups, electrode placement, long-term/video monitoring, and assisting with evoked potential and nerve conduction studies
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• One pre-approved time-off request allowed per contract
• First-time travelers will be considered if all other requirements are met
• Local candidates are accepted
• Indiana residents are considered local
• Any current or former IU Health perm or PRN employee must be separated for 12 months before applying as a traveler
