American Traveler is hiring a General Ultrasound Technologist with 2+ years of experience and ARDMS certification for a day-shift assignment supporting a community hospital's radiology/cardiology department.

• Community hospital setting within the Radiology/Cardiology department performing General Ultrasound Tech duties
• Adult patient population with services in the Emergency Department and portable imaging
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Epic EMR system used for charting
• May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate/sister facilities as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist required
• ARDMS certification and BLS certification required
• Valid CA license required in hand at time of submission (license required if applicable)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I hospital experience preferred
• Proficiency in OB/GYN ultrasound including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester studies, amniotic fluid index, and fetal anatomical survey
• Experience with general abdominal ultrasound including abdominal aorta, appendix, breast, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, and spleen
• Pediatric abdomen/pelvis experience preferred
• Experience with renal/pelvic ultrasound including bladder, hernia, ovaries, prostate, renal/bladder, uterus, and vaginal studies
• Small parts ultrasound experience including superficial masses, testicles/scrotum, and thyroid
• Breast ultrasound experience required; breast cyst aspiration experience preferred
• Vascular ultrasound experience including carotid, lower extremity arterial, and upper extremity arterial studies
• Experience with GE ultrasound equipment and PACS system preferred
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols required
• Experience assisting with paracentesis and thoracentesis procedures preferred
• Outpatient experience preferred
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required, which may include Charge RNs or Leads

Additional Information

• Perform a full range of general, OB/GYN, small parts, renal, and vascular ultrasound studies for adult patients
• Support Emergency Department imaging needs including portable ultrasound studies
• Assist with bedside procedures such as paracentesis and thoracentesis as needed
• Travelers must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year
• Minimal RTO accommodated at time of submission
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• A 50-mile radius rule applies for local candidate consideration
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
