American Traveler is seeking a CVOR Surgical Technologist with 2 years of cardiac and vascular surgical experience and at least one prior travel assignment for a hospital operating room position.

Details

• Hospital CVOR unit setting with potential float to general surgery when no cardiac cases are scheduled
• 13-week assignment with Day/Evening shift options of 3-4x12 hours, either 0630-1830 or 1100-2330
• On-call requirement of 6 calls per 6-week schedule
• Weekend and holiday coverage requirement of 1 weekend shift and/or 1 holiday per 6-week schedule

Requirements

• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years in aseptic technique, case cart management, and cardiac and vascular surgical cases
• Experience with crash cart and Da Vinci Xi Robotics required
• Prior experience in general surgery, orthopedics, ortho/spine, ortho/joints, urology, endoscopy, thoracic, neuro, GYN, neuro/spine, bariatrics, ophthalmology, plastics, podiatry, ENT, and transplant cases preferred
• Completion of at least 1 previous travel assignment required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• License required if applicable
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years

Additional Information

• Perform circulating duties and assist with a range of cardiovascular and vascular procedures including CABG, TAVR, VAD, EVAR/TEVAR, carotid endarterectomy, and aortic aneurysm repairs
• Utilize cardiothoracic robotic surgery skills, including the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
• Support angiogram, aortic dissection, and valve repair cases
• Scrubs are provided
• Flu vaccine required by the facility
• Local candidates within 60 miles of the facility are accepted at a lower rate
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates with previous MedStar employment must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
