American Traveler is hiring a CT Scan Technologist with at least 1 year of experience and Level 1 Trauma background for a 13-week travel assignment at a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital in Charleston, SC.

Details

• Work setting includes Adult Acute Care, Emergency Department, ICU, and Level 1 Trauma environments within a large 865-bed Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital
• Caseload varies per shift and location
• Procedures include abdomen/pelvis CT with and without contrast, head and neck studies, spine and musculoskeletal imaging, chest and vascular CTA, brain perfusion, myelography, colonography, coronary CTA, and image-guided biopsies, aspirations, and drainage
• 3x12-hour day shifts, Saturday through Monday, 8:00 AM – 8:30 PM, with holiday rotation
• On-call rotation with staff is required
• Floating within clinical scope to meet facility needs is required, including to sister facilities
• Charting via Epic (required)
• Siemens equipment used

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of CT Tech experience; at least 6 months of Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Current BLS (AHA only), ARRT RT(R), and ARRT CT certifications required
• SC license required if applicable — license must be active and in hand; pending licenses will not be accepted at time of start
• Siemens scanner experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required; Teaching Hospital experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in image display and post-processing, 3D rendering, and preparation/administration of contrast media required
• Ability to start peripheral IVs and apply radiation safety and isolation precaution protocols required
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Agency must supply a radiation badge — the facility does not provide radiation badges to travelers

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered provided they have relevant prior experience
• Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the MUSC system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized, though local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• All RTO must be submitted at the time of consideration; RTO requests after submission will not be accepted and are subject to manager and unit approval
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November, with peak activity in August and September), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams
• Orientation modules are completed prior to the assignment start date
• Scrub colors are teal top and black bottom
• Parking on nights and weekends requires a one-time $20 parking pass payment
