American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with 2+ years of CVOR experience for a hospital cardiovascular operating room position.

Details

• Work in a hospital CVOR unit supporting cardiovascular, vascular, and thoracic surgical procedures
• Patient ratio of 1:1
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• One weekend per month required
• On-call requirements apply

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the CVOR specialty
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• NBSTSA certification required (License required if applicable)
• CST and NCCT certifications preferred
• Experience with vascular procedures including AAA repair, aortobifemoral bypass, carotid endarterectomy, EVAR, and femoral popliteal bypass graft preferred
• Experience with cardiovascular procedures including CABG, TAVR, VAD, mitral valve replacement, and angioplasty/stenting preferred
• Experience with thoracic procedures including VATS, lung resection/thoracotomy, and mediastinoscopy preferred
• Trauma case experience including amputations, burns, and gunshot/stab wounds preferred
• Proficiency in aseptic technique, sterilization/disinfection, and universal protocol time-out procedures
• First-time travelers will be considered

Additional Information

• Support cardiovascular, vascular, and thoracic surgical procedures in a CVOR setting
• Prepare and maintain sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical cases
• Perform equipment documentation, instrument processing, and specimen handling/labeling
• Follow isolation precautions, PPE protocols, laser safety, radiation safety, and sharps safety practices
• Participate in universal protocol time-out procedures
• Orientation occurs on a bi-weekly basis
• Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility for consideration
