American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience to perform advanced MRI examinations at a Level II Trauma academic medical center.

Details

• MRI department within a 651-bed regional academic medical center and state-designated Level II Trauma Center
• Supports adult and pediatric patients across ER/Trauma, ICU, acute care, and outpatient settings
• Performs neurologic, musculoskeletal, vascular, cardiac, fetal, and prostate MRI examinations
• Uses GE MRI equipment and PACS imaging system
• Cerner PowerChart charting system required
• Evening shift, 5x8 hours, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
• Weekend rotation required every third weekend
• On-call requirement every third week
• May float between Paterson and Wayne Hospital campuses within skillset

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of MRI Technologist experience required
• BLS certification required
• ARRT, ARRT(MR), and ARRT(R) certifications preferred
• State of NJ Radiologic Technology licensure preferred; license required if applicable
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Skilled in head, neck, spine, and musculoskeletal MRI imaging including brain, orbits, cervical/lumbar/thoracic spine, and extremities
• Proficient in special imaging techniques including gradient echo imaging, MIP, MPR, spin echo, and T1/T2 weighted imaging
• Experience preparing and administering contrast media and starting peripheral IVs
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and proper PPE use
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for resolving technical and clinical issues
• Ability to explain clinical and diagnostic procedures to patients and families

• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate differential
• Candidates must live within a 50-mile radius to qualify for local rate rules
• RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted with the application
• Facility may cancel up to one shift per two-week period
• Uses SBAR communication method and Omnicell medication system
• Works within an ACR-accredited MRI department supporting a broader northern New Jersey healthcare system
