American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a high-acuity Level II Trauma Center with a strong focus on CT procedures including angiography, biopsy drainage, and stroke perfusion.

Details

• Work in the Radiology department of a 492-bed Level II Trauma Center (with potential conversion to Level I), serving inpatient and outpatient adult patients with occasional pediatric outpatient and ED cases
• High-acuity, fast-paced environment averaging 4 patients per hour (approximately 40 patients per day)
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Staffing includes 3–4 CT Techs on days, 2 CT Techs on 2nd and 3rd shifts, and 2–3 CT Techs with an assistant on weekends
• Procedures include CT biopsy drainage, trauma CT, angiogram (required), and stroke perfusion (strongly preferred)
• All GE CT scanners; EMR is Cerner
• 8-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
• Weekend rotation varies, typically once a month but subject to change based on departmental needs
• On-call is voluntary
• Travelers may float throughout the hospital and within different areas of the main Radiology department

Requirements

• Current BLS and ARRT certifications required
• ARRT-CT specialty certification required
• License required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of CT experience considered for strong candidates; first-time travelers considered with at least 2 years of relevant experience
• Proficiency with CT angiogram required; stroke perfusion experience strongly preferred
• Experience with CT biopsy drainage and trauma CT required
• GE CT scanner experience preferred
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• 1 reference from a charge nurse or above within the past 12 months required for consideration
• DOB (day and month) required for consideration

Additional Information

• Orientation consists of 1 eight-hour hospital orientation followed by 2–3 shifts on the unit with a day-shift tech
• Holiday coverage required per hospital policy: one major and one minor seasonal holiday (scheduling for specific dates is not guaranteed)
• Requests for more than 7 days off require email approval from the manager; travelers must extend their contract to accommodate time off
• Former permanent staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler
• Candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Scrubs may be any color; free parking is available
• Rad techs are expected to purchase their own lead markers
• An interview is required; this facility does not utilize auto offers
