American Traveler is hiring an Electrophysiology Lab Tech for a 13-week travel contract at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated academic medical center, with EP Lab and cardiac mapping experience required.

Details

• Work in a dedicated Electrophysiology Lab within a large acute care teaching hospital featuring six state-of-the-art cath labs and adjacent cardiac surgery and hybrid ORs
• Facility is a Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated, certified stroke center, and holds ACC accreditation for PCI procedures
• Patient ratio is 1:1
• Procedures include electrophysiology studies, cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, arrhythmia induction, cardioversion, conduction studies, pacemaker insertion, AICD insertion/programming, LAA closure, and vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
• Equipment includes fluoroscopy, Siemens, Philips, ultrasound, Carto Ensite, and Cardiolab systems
• Charting via Epic (experience required)
• Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, with rotating late shifts when cases extend into the evening
• No weekend or on-call requirements; the EP Lab closes on facility holidays
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Current BLS and ACLS required
• ARRT(R) with a valid Virginia state license OR CCI RCES/RCIS certification required — license required if applicable
• Minimum of 1 year of EP Lab experience required
• Experience with EP mapping, sterile technique, EKG lead placement, dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation, and cardiac background required
• Proficiency with fluoroscopy, Siemens, Philips, ultrasound, Carto Ensite, and Cardiolab systems required
• Knowledge of isolation precautions, equipment handling, and supply management required
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Valid Driver's License and Social Security Card required for consideration
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (as verified by the address on their Driver's License)

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates living 50–99.9 miles from the facility may be considered for one 13-week assignment with no eligibility to extend
• Previous facility employees (per diem or permanent) must have been separated for a minimum of one year before returning as a traveler; travelers who have worked on assignment for a cumulative 365 days are not eligible to return, with exceptions reviewed on a case-by-case basis
• Travelers with an ARRT(R) license in another state will be considered — Virginia grants emergency authorization allowing travelers to work while their permanent VA license is processing
• Travel experience is not required, though multiple years is preferred
• Must be available to work at least one holiday per 13-week assignment
• All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of consideration
• Responsibilities include room circulating, scrubbing/maintaining sterile field, equipment setup, accurate monitoring, prepping access sites, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
