American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical First Assistant with open heart first assist experience for a hospital cardiothoracic OR position.

Details

• Work in a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital's Operating Room, primarily supporting Open Hearts and Main OR
• Patient population includes adult and geriatric patients, excluding pediatric open hearts
• Monday through Friday schedule from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM with 40 guaranteed weekly hours
• On-call requirements include weekday coverage 1500-0700 (16 hours) and weekend coverage Sat-Sun 0700-0700 (24-48 hours)
• Float to main OR when no cardiothoracic cases are scheduled
• Every other weekend rotation required

Requirements

• Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) certification required
• License required if applicable
• 2+ years of experience preferred in scrubbing and first assisting for open heart CABG procedures, both on and off pump
• Experience with robotic and laparoscopic lung procedures preferred
• Cardiothoracic/open heart first assisting (CABG) skills required
• AHA certifications required
• Complete and clear screenings required prior to start
• PA fingerprint clearances required, including Child Abuse History Clearance, Department of Human Services Fingerprinting, and PA State Police Clearance (PATCH)

Additional Information

• Serve as first assistant for open heart CABG procedures, including on and off pump cases, as well as robotic and laparoscopic lung procedures
• Assist with a range of cardiothoracic and general surgical cases in a Level 1 Trauma Center setting
• Blue scrubs are provided
• Weekly orientation held on Mondays
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
• Local candidates within 60 miles may be considered at the local rate
• Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full-time during the assignment
