American Traveler is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist with Level 1 trauma experience for a fast-paced, 24/7 hospital OR serving a broad range of surgical specialties in Boston, MA.

Details

• Hospital operating room setting with 22 ORs staffed 24/7
• Surgical services include general, GYN, GU, oral, otolaryngology, bariatrics, orthopedics, neurosurgery, vascular, thoracic, cardiac, plastics, podiatry, robotics, pediatrics, trauma, and spine
• Mid-shift rotation (day and evening), with 10-hour shifts and 40 hours per week
• Day shift starts at 7a; evening shift start times of 9a and 11a
• Every 3rd weekend on an as-needed basis
• Every other holiday required
• On-call: 1x per schedule
• May float to another OR campus if needed
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but will be placed at a local pay rate

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of inpatient surgical experience
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Competency in at least 5 of the listed surgical services required
• NBSTSA CST certification required — no other surgical tech certification accepted
• BLS certification required
• Active MA state license required if applicable
• Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program required per MA state law (as of July 1, 2013)
• A valid, non-expired driver's license is required for consideration
• 2 professional references required — at least one must be from a manager-level or above (not a supervisor); one must include a performance evaluation completed within the last 12 months, and the other within the last 3 years

Additional Information

• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, flexibility, and excellent communication skills in a high-volume, multi-specialty surgical environment
• One reference is preferred from a most recent temporary or travel assignment; references from fellow travelers are not accepted
• First-time travelers are not mentioned as eligible — candidates should have substantial relevant experience given the Level 1 trauma requirement
• Skills checklist must have been completed within the last year for consideration
