Description

American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist with ARRT RT(T) certification and 3–5 years of experience for a hospital-based Radiation Oncology position requiring candidates to reside more than 25 miles from the facility.

• Hospital-based Radiation Oncology department
• Day shift, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
• Weekend call may be required
• Equipment includes Linear Accelerator, CT Simulator, ADAC Treatment Planning System, and VARIS System
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• ARRT in Radiation Therapy RT(T) required
• Texas Department of State Health Services Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (CMRT) required
• Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
• 3–5 years of experience as a credentialed Radiation Therapist required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a U.S. hospital in the specialty area required
• Bachelor of Science in Radiation Therapy preferred
• Active license required — no pending licensure accepted; license required if applicable
• U.S. SSN required for consideration
• Date of birth required for consideration
• Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the previous 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer

Additional Information

• Administer daily radiation treatments to patients using ionizing radiation under the direction of a radiation oncologist
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists and physics personnel in performing simulation and treatment calculations
• Perform daily warm-up and quality assurance on the treatment machine and CT simulator
• Provide patient and family education regarding the planning and delivery of radiation treatment
• Ensure accurate data is communicated to therapists, radiation oncologists, and physics staff for dose calculation
• Ensure all processes, including isodose plans, laboratory and radiology results, and physician dictations, are signed off by the radiation oncologist
• Candidates must reside more than 25 miles from the facility to be eligible
