American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Sonographer with 2+ years of experience performing advanced echocardiography including TEE, TTE, and stress echo studies.

Details

• 50-bed community hospital with 22 ED beds
• Cardiology - Stress department
• Patient types include cardiac diagnostics, chemotherapy evaluations, and transplant evaluations
• 8-hour day shift, 12:30 PM-9 PM, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
• Uses Epic EMR
• Equipment includes Philips and GE echo machines, CASE stress system, and Philips ISCV for reporting
• Floating required to satellite sites managed within the Wake Region
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• Weekend and holiday coverage depends on unit needs

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• BLS required
• One of the following required: RCS, RDCS, or ACS (Advanced Cardiac Sonographer through CCI)
• National certification not required
• ACLS preferred
• License required if applicable
• Proficiency in complete TTE with color and doppler required
• Experience with Ultrasound Enhancement Agents (UEA – Definity/Optison) required
• Advanced imaging skills required per ASE/IAC Echo standards, including LV Global Strain, 3D imaging, HOCM, and Agitated Saline Contrast studies
• Stress echo and Dobutamine stress echo experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

• Perform advanced cardiac diagnostic studies including TTE, TEE, Stress Echo, and Dobutamine Stress Echo
• Department offers dedicated Cardiac Ultrasound Educator and Chief Sonographer support
• Orientation includes NEO and 2 days of departmental training
• Department culture is patient/family-focused, high quality, fast-paced, and academic with a balance of portable and in-lab studies
• Scrub requirements: purple tops (not eggplant), black pants/skirts, and either purple or black warm-up jackets
• Free assigned parking provided
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Local candidates not accepted; 50-mile radius rule applies
• Returning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
