American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with transplant experience for a hospital OR position requiring independent liver transplant scrubbing and Cerner proficiency.

Details

• Hospital OR setting with 22 rooms and a daily average of 35 surgical cases
• Transplant-focused CST role requiring the ability to independently scrub liver recipient transplant cases
• Case mix includes liver transplant, large open belly, general, urology, thoracic, GYN, plastics, Whipple, liver resection, and free flap procedures
• Da Vinci XI robotic surgical system is used
• Cerner EMR experience is required
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• On-call requirement of 40–60 hours per 6-week schedule
• Holiday coverage is required

Requirements

• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
• BLS certification required; AHA and RQI certifications are accepted and must be current
• License required if applicable
• Minimum of 2 years of CST experience required
• Independent liver transplant scrubbing experience is a hard requirement — candidates without this experience will not be considered
• Experience with large open belly cases, general, urology, thoracic, GYN, plastics, Whipple, liver resection, and free flap procedures required
• Proficiency in aseptic technique and sterile scrub role required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Two supervisor professional references required
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration

• Indiana residents are not eligible for this position, effective March 1, 2026
• Local candidates (Indiana residents) are not eligible; out-of-state candidates only
• Travelers may float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
• Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
• Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have a 12-month gap before applying as a traveler
• Current or past IU Health travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break, in-state residents require a 180-day break
