American Traveler is hiring a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) for a night shift travel contract at a hospital-based sleep lab in Bozeman, MT, requiring active RPSGT certification and a minimum of 2 years of sleep disorder testing experience.

Details

• Hospital-based sleep lab setting focused on sleep disorders testing and diagnosis
• Performs comprehensive polysomnography testing, including patient setup and monitoring over a 10–12 hour period
• Responsible for scoring and evaluating polysomnograms and administering therapies per physician orders
• Operates as the sole technician on duty during testing periods, requiring independent troubleshooting of sleep lab equipment
• 3x12 hour consecutive night shifts per week

Requirements

• Active RPSGT certification (BRPT) required
• Current AHA BLS required
• Graduate of an AMA-approved school for respiratory care or nursing required
• Montana Respiratory Therapist or RN licensure required — license required if applicable
• Minimum of 24 months of experience in sleep disorder testing preferred, with routine EEG experience a plus
• Must be self-directed and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and perform frequent standing, walking, reaching, and fine motor tasks
• Must live at least 90 miles from the facility to be considered for this position

Additional Information

• Sets up patients, monitors sleep disorder tests, and scores and evaluates polysomnograms
• Serves as the primary contact for physicians, patients, and outreach accounts regarding sleep disorder diagnostics and consultation
• Provides patient education on sleep disorder diagnosis, equipment, and treatment options
• Delivers education and in-services for outreach accounts and groups interested in sleep disorders
• Works independently during testing periods and must be capable of resolving most equipment issues without assistance
• On-call availability may be required to meet organizational or patient needs
• Regular weekend and after-hours shifts may be required
• Continuous exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, chemicals, and emotionally challenging patient situations
