American Traveler is hiring a Registered Ultrasound Technologist with at least 2 years of sonography experience and ARDMS/ARRT certification for a hospital-based General Ultrasound role.

Details

• Hospital-based Radiology/Cardiology Ultrasound department performing General Ultrasound exams
• Adult patient population across Emergency Department, ICU, Obstetrics, and inpatient floors
• Patient ratio of approximately 1:10
• Performs a wide range of studies including OB/GYN, abdominal, vascular, small parts, transplant, and renal/pelvis ultrasounds
• Vascular skills include Doppler studies, duplex, carotid, arterial/venous mapping, and stent evaluations
• Assists with procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, and ultrasound-guided biopsy/fine needle aspiration
• Uses Philips and Siemens ultrasound equipment with PACS integration
• Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (5x8-hour shifts)
• On-call required 2 days per week and every other weekend, with a 30-minute response time
• Hospital operates 24/7, 365 days a year

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound/Sonography program
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sonographer
• ARDMS and ARRT certification required
• Current BLS certification required
• License required if applicable
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Outpatient ultrasound experience will be considered
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, and twist, and occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 100 pounds
• Must be able to perform sonography exams for 8+ hours across the department, surgery, ED, and patient floors
• Must demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to manage high-stress clinical situations

• Provide high-quality diagnostic imaging to support patient diagnosis and ongoing care
• Assist radiologists with a variety of ultrasound exams and procedures
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary imaging team in a fast-paced hospital setting
• Facility conducts its own drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with no exceptions for positive results
• Candidates should avoid substances that could affect drug screening results, including CBD products
• Does not accept local candidates within a 50-mile radius
• Experienced travelers are preferred, though first-time travelers with relevant outpatient experience will be considered
