American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Sonographer with 2+ years of echo tech experience and RDCS, RCS, or ACS certification for a fast-paced cardiology department at an academic medical center.

Details

• Academic medical center with Level 1 Trauma, Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center designations
• Cardiology - Stress unit performing approximately 110 TTE and comprehensive studies per day across all areas
• Performs 14 Stress/Stress Echo/DobSE/NucCard/Tilt studies and 5-6 TEE studies per day
• Patient population includes heart failure, advanced cardiac diagnostics, chemotherapy evaluations, and renal transplant evaluations
• Uses Philips and GE echo equipment, GE CASE stress lab system, and Philips ISCV for reporting
• Charts in EPIC - Encompass
• 8-hour evening shift, 12:30 PM to 9 PM, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
• Floating required to satellite sites within the Wake Region for Echo Techs
• Weekend rotation and holiday coverage dependent on unit needs
• No on-call or call back requirements

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Echo Tech required
• BLS required
• RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS or ACS (Advanced Cardiac Sonographer through CCI) required
• PALS and ACLS preferred
• License required if applicable
• Proficient in 2D, doppler, color flow, 3D, strain, and contrast studies
• Stress echo skills and interventional procedure experience preferred
• IV management training preferred
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Minimum 12 months of core work experience in the specialty area, with most recent experience within the last year
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration

• Department supported by a dedicated Cardiac Ultrasound Educator and Chief Sonographer
• Team includes 19 sonographers, 5 RNs, and 2 EPs
• Orientation includes NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation
• Scrub requirements: purple tops, black pants or skirts, and either purple or black warm-up jackets
• Free assigned parking provided
• Patient and family-focused, high quality, fast-paced academic lab balancing portable and in-lab studies
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Candidates must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position there
• 50-mile radius rule applies; local candidates within this radius are not accepted
