American Traveler is hiring a travel Radiology Technologist - X-Ray for a high-acuity Level II Trauma Center with fluoroscopy, surgical, and trauma imaging experience required.

• Works in the main Radiology department of a 492-bed Level II Trauma Center (with possible conversion to Level I), covering various areas within the department
• Inpatient and outpatient adult patients, with occasional pediatric patients in the outpatient and ED settings
• Average caseload of approximately 4 patients per hour (40 patients per day) on a 1:1 basis
• Procedures include fluoroscopy, surgical imaging, portable, trauma, and diagnostic X-ray; O-arm experience preferred; DEXA experience a plus
• Equipment includes GE and Siemens fluoroscopy rooms, Konica DR room, Siemens X-ray rooms, GE portables, and Carestream portable
• EMR: Cerner
• 10-hour night shifts, Thursday through Sunday, 9:00 PM start
• May float to different areas throughout the hospital per facility policy
• Weekend rotation varies, typically once a month but subject to change based on departmental needs
• On-call is voluntary

Requirements

• Current BLS and ARRT certifications required
• License required if applicable (Alabama does not have a state license for X-Ray; ARRT is the only state requirement)
• Fluoroscopy experience required
• Surgical imaging experience required
• Experience with portable, trauma, and diagnostic X-ray required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience considered for candidates with strong relevant skills; first-time travelers considered with at least 2 years of experience
• Must provide own lead markers (rad techs are responsible for purchasing their own)
• One reference from a charge-level or above position within the past 12 months required for consideration
• DOB (day and month) and SSN required for consideration

• This is a fast-paced, high-acuity environment comparable to a Level I Trauma Center — candidates should be prepared for a demanding workload
• Orientation consists of one 8-hour hospital orientation followed by 2–3 shifts on the unit with a day-shift tech
• Weekend staffing typically includes 3–4 techs and 2–3 students; weekday staffing is 7–9 techs until 3:00 PM, then 3–4 techs with 2 students until 7:30 PM; nights typically have 3–4 techs
• Holiday coverage follows facility policy: one major and one minor seasonal holiday expected; specific dates are not guaranteed off prior to arrival
• Requests for more than 7 days off require email approval from the manager; contract extension may be required to accommodate time off
• Any color scrubs are acceptable
• Free parking is available on-site
• An interview is required; this facility does not utilize auto offers
• Candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Former permanent staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler at this facility
