American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with at least 1 year of OR scrubbing experience for a hospital Operating Room position in Billings, MT.

Details

• Hospital Operating Room (OR) setting
• Variable schedule with four 9-hour shifts per week, totaling 36 hours per week
• Supports a wide range of surgical procedures across general surgical services
• Epic EMR used for charting
• May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications
• May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of OR scrubbing experience required
• Completion of an accredited ORT program; or graduation from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the past 6 months; or 2 years of scrub tech experience in hospital or military surgical services within the last 3 years
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required (must not expire prior to start date)
• Active National Certification as an ORT or CST preferred
• License required if applicable
• DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
• Experience with Epic charting preferred

Additional Information

• Functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and reports to Surgical Services management
• Prepares the OR and instruments for each surgical procedure and assists surgeon(s) during cases while remaining within ORT scope of practice
• Maintains sterile fields, ensures sterilization criteria are met for all surgical items and the OR environment
• Recognizes and addresses sharps and fire safety processes
• Assists with room turnover, cleaning, and restocking of supplies and equipment between procedures
• Identifies emergency situations and exercises sound judgment when implementing emergency response procedures
• May assist with sterile processing
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
