American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with CVOR experience and at least 2 prior travel assignments for a 13-week hospital CVOR unit position in Asheville, NC.

Details

• Hospital CVOR unit position at a Level II trauma center and regional referral center for open heart and interventional cardiology
• CV PreOp unit with 4 beds and a 1:1 patient ratio
• Shift hours are 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday
• On-call requirements include staying late 1–2 times per week
• Floating is within scope of practice and experience
• Documents system: Cerner
• Equipment includes GE Carescape Monitoring and Fuji ultrasound
• Scrubs are provided by the facility

Requirements

• CST certification is mandatory; state licensure required if applicable
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CST
• CVOR experience required — no exceptions
• At least 2 prior travel assignments required — no exceptions
• Active experience within the last 6 months in the role is required
• BLS certification from the AHA or ARC (must not expire within the first 30 days of the start date)
• Critical care experience required; CV PreOp experience is a plus
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Proficiency in BCMA, thorough documentation, and interdepartmental communication
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for candidates from Florida or Missouri)

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include large-bore IV starts, chin-to-toe hair removal, medication administration, skin assessment, and assistance with arterial line, central line, and epidural placement
• Additional duties include transporting patients to the OR and assisting with induction/intubation, positioning, and skin prep
• Unit is staffed with RNs and supported by a CNC, secretary, and manager shared with the CVOR
• The facility has earned recognition including Healthgrades America's 50 Best Hospitals (2020–2023), Leapfrog 'A' Safety Grade, Magnet® Designation, and a three-star STS rating for cardiac surgery outcomes
• The facility operates the busiest robotic surgery program in the Carolinas and is the only regional provider of open heart surgery and interventional cardiology
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
