Description

American Traveler is hiring a Monitor Technician for a 13-week travel contract in a Telemetry unit, requiring at least 1 year of experience and prior travel experience.

Details

• Telemetry unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
• Responsible for continuous cardiac monitoring of patients connected to telemetry units

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Monitor Technician or in a comparable role
• Active RN license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Prior travel experience required
• Knowledge of basic arrhythmia interpretation and ECG tracings
• Strong computer skills and interpersonal communication skills
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Monitor telemetry readings and maintain appropriate alarm settings for each patient
• Provide daily rhythm strip printings and verify accurate date/time on printouts
• Perform ECGs as needed and assist in troubleshooting monitor equipment
• Alert nursing staff promptly when a patient is in crisis
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a new contract; extensions are limited to one time for a maximum of 26 total weeks
• Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screening, background checks, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon offer acceptance
• This facility enforces strict compliance deadlines and will not negotiate start dates after a candidate is booked
