American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist (Inpatient) for a Level II Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of specialty experience and prior travel assignment experience.

Details

• Inpatient Imaging Ultrasound department in a Level II Trauma Center
• Performs complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures specializing in two or more areas such as Cardiac, Vascular, or General ultrasound
• Patient population ranges from infants to geriatric patients
• May perform invasive techniques such as contrast agent administration, paracentesis, thoracentesis, biopsy exams, line placement, and thrombin injection exams per policy
• Exams may be performed in the ultrasound department or on other nursing floors as needed
• Uses Epic EMR for charting
• Schedule is Saturday-Monday, 6:00 PM-6:30 AM, 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• May be required to float to other areas within competency level
• May be required to pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
• Call requirements to be discussed during interview
• Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
• Minimum of two major holidays required

Requirements

• ARDMS or RDMS license required if applicable
• CPR certification required upon hire
• AHA BLS certification required within 60 days of hire
• Minimum two years of clinical experience in the respective ultrasound specialty required
• Prior travel experience of at least one 13-week assignment required
• Epic EMR experience preferred, with training available during orientation or option to test out
• Must be able to provide care for patients ranging from infant to geriatric populations
• Must demonstrate proficiency in operating diagnostic ultrasound imaging systems

Additional Information

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures per physician orders and established protocols to support diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease processes
• Review images for identification, technique, and completeness according to governing accreditation bodies
• Serve as a professional resource and role model to patients, physicians, peers, and the public
• May provide training and mentorship to new department staff and sonography students from CAAHEP programs
• Participate in accreditation and re-accreditation processes for the department
• Responsible for maintaining and cleaning equipment and lab, including checking code blue carts, eye wash stations, blanket warmers, and refrigerators
• Facility does not permit blocked scheduling
• All assignments are for 13 weeks
• Requested RTO must be included at time of submission and will not be added to the end of the contract
• Facility does not accept local candidates and requires candidates to live more than 60 miles from the facility
• A 13-week break is required after ending a contract at this facility before returning
