American Traveler is seeking an Endoscopy Technician 2 in Plano, TX, with GI lab experience required for a local, non-travel 8-week contract at an outpatient GI/Endoscopy facility.

• Outpatient GI/Endoscopy setting in Plano, TX
• Monday–Friday day shifts, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM with occasional late days until 4:00 PM
• No weekends or on-call requirements
• 8-week contract assignment

Requirements

• GI/Endoscopy Technician experience required
• Minimum 1 year of experience preferred
• Current BLS certification required
• Active TX license required if applicable
• Computer proficiency preferred
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• Flu vaccination required; no exemptions accepted
• DOB and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform or assist with selected GI procedures not requiring sedation and support Clinical Nurses and Physicians during sedation-based procedures
• Assist with scope advancement (fiber optic, endo, flexible sigmoid) and monitor patient vital signs during procedures
• Perform gastric chartings including timing, measuring, and evaluating pH in gastric fluids
• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopes, colonoscopes, guidewires, biopsy forceps, and brushes using chemicals including betadine, glutaraldehyde, and ethylene oxide under a vent hood
• Provide technical assistance in the recovery room by monitoring and charting patient physiological data such as blood pressure and heart rate
• Prepare specimen slides and deliver specimens to the appropriate lab
• Lead and mentor other Technicians, ensuring procedures are performed to standard, and assist with orientation and training of new staff
• Coordinate supply ordering and manage equipment maintenance scheduling and vendor relationships
• Prepare quality control reports related to equipment usage, maintenance, and repair
• Black scrubs required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates; local candidates are not accepted for this position
