American Traveler is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist for a 13-week travel contract at a Level I Trauma and Level I Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital, with experience performing general and vascular ultrasound on both adult and pediatric patients.

Details

• Works in a high-volume ultrasound department averaging 70–80 patients per day across a large acute care facility
• Patient population includes adults and pediatrics from the ED, ICUs, nursing units, and outpatient settings across the full spectrum of radiology exams and diagnoses
• Performs general and vascular ultrasound on both adult and pediatric patients, including portable imaging across a large facility
• EMR is Epic (Encompass); experience with Epic is required
• Equipment includes Siemens Sequoia and a full gamut of transducers
• 10-hour evening shifts, Tuesday through Friday, 1:30 PM to 12:00 AM
• No floating requirements
• On-call is required and rotated fairly among full-time, part-time, PRN, and travel staff based on team size
• No weekend/weekday rotation — travelers remain on the assigned shift per contract
• Holiday coverage is expected unless approved time off is arranged in advance

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in ultrasound, with most recent experience within the last year
• Current BLS certification required
• ARDMS certification and all modality-specific certifications required
• Proficiency performing general and vascular ultrasound on adult and pediatric patients
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Ability to perform portable imaging across a large facility
• Strong clinical skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Active license required if applicable
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (local candidates not accepted)
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

• Department is staffed 24/7/365 and is supported by a lead tech, modality supervisor, and Imaging Manager
• Team is diverse in experience, ranging from new graduates to long-tenured staff
• Orientation includes a facility and departmental tour with introductions; departmental orientation is approximately 5 days but is flexible based on traveler needs
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates who have previously worked a permanent position at an Advocate Health Southeast (AHSE) facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
• RTO requests require manager approval
• Black scrubs are required for technologists
